HEAVY SMOKE CONDITIONS IN EAST CLACKAMAS COUNTY
News Release from Sandy Fire District
Posted on FlashAlert: August 22nd, 2015 11:59 AM
Sandy Fire District No. 72, along with much of East Clackamas County, is experiencing heavy smoke conditions from the fires burning in central and eastern Oregon and Washington. These heavy smoke conditions are projected by area meteorologists to last until tomorrow. There are currently no major fires in the Hoodland, Estacada or Sandy Fire Districts. 911 Dispatch centers are being overwhelmed with calls asking about fire information and the smoky conditions. We ask that you call 911 if you can directly see a fire or flames. Most of the Willamette Valley is also under a Red Flag Warning today in addition to much of the State being under an Air Quality Alert because of smoky conditions.
