The city of Beaverton will resurface four streets, Sept. 24-27 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. All streets will remain open to local traffic.

The streets that will be resurfaced include:

* SW Cherryhill Drive (SW 20th Street to 22nd Street)
* SW Daphne Street (SW Fisher Avenue to End of Pavement)
* SW Bucher Avenue (SW Daphne Street to 20th Street)
* SW 20th Street (SW Wilson Avenue to End of Pavement)

"When our streets are in poor condition it can impact response times for police, fire and EMTs," said Peter Arellano, public works director. "It's vital that we eliminate potholes to decrease road-base failures. Keeping up our roads helps provide the public with safer streets for driving, biking, walking or skateboarding."

The city intends to complete the work as quickly as possible, while providing the highest quality overlay.

"It's crucial that we invest in our city's infrastructure," said Mayor Denny Doyle. "Beaverton cares about its roads. We're proactively maintaining our streets to prevent them from falling into disrepair."
