BEAVERTON DOWNTOWN ASSOCIATION CONTINUES FIRST FRIDAY CELEBRATION SERIES ON SEPTEMBER 7
Posted: August 23rd, 2012 4:20 PM

The Beaverton Downtown Association (BDA) invites you to enjoy special retail discounts, live music, raffles, art, artisan foods and shopping in downtown Beaverton on Friday, Sept. 7 from 5-8 p.m. Businesses from SW Broadway to 4th, between Main Street and Tucker Avenue will be open extended hours on the First Friday through October.

"The First Friday program has been a resounding success, "said Mayor Denny Doyle. "We're encouraged to see so many businesses taking on the challenge of staying open later. The response has been positive and businesses have seen increased foot traffic on Fridays. We hope this encourages businesses to stay open for later hours after the event ends in October."

As part of the series, more than 40 downtown businesses will offer extended hours and most will also offer special promotions and discounts on the first Friday of every month.

Extended business hours vary, but most begin at 5 p.m. and remain open until 8 p.m. Downtown dining continues at Thai Hi5, Beaverton Saloon, Giovanni's, and Ava's Roasteria until 9 p.m. or later. Dancing at Arthur Murray Dance Studios will be from 9:15 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

There will be another raffle for gift certificates donated by local merchants. The more participating sites people visit, the more chances they have to enter to win gift certificates from A&P Kitchen, Beaverton Florist, Beaverton Bakery, Costume Avenue, Peddler's Pack, Legends Sports & Spirits, Emily Andrew's Portrait Studio, or The Wedding Cottage. Ask each vendor for an entry slip. No purchase is necessary to enter.
