Oregon State Police (OSP) is continuing the investigation into the cause of a single vehicle crash that occurred late Thursday night on Waldo Lake Road near the Willamette Pass Ski area. The crash was discovered Friday morning and both occupants were transported to Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend for treatment of injuries.
According to Senior Trooper Ron Martin, on July 20, 2012 at approximately 7:45 a.m. a passing motorist spotted a crashed vehicle with two injured people off Waldo Lake Road near milepost 12. OSP and Oakridge Fire Department responded to the scene. The two occupants were extricated from the vehicle before being taken to a hospital.
Preliminary investigation indicates the crash occurred Thursday, July 19, around 11:30 p.m. CASSI JONES, age 53, from Oakridge, was driving a 2007 Ford F150 pickup when she got lost while traveling to Wickiup Reservoir to meet family on a camping trip. As the pickup negotiated a left curve it traveled off the roadway, struck a guardrail, and hit several trees before coming to rest on its top.
JONES was using safety restraints but passenger GLENNIS BURKE, age 52, from Oakridge, was not. Injuries to both persons are non-life threatening.
