DETECTIVES CONTINUE HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION
Posted: May 19th, 2012 9:29 PM
On May 16, 2012, at about 7:17 p.m., Sheriff's Deputies responded to a report of a missing person call at 2149 SW 217th Avenue in Aloha, an area of the Enhanced Sheriff's Patrol District. Deputies were attempting to locate Phillip Lindemuth, 43 years old, who resides at that address. Mr. Lindemuth could not be found.
During the investigation, deputies received information which caused them to believe that Mr. Lindemuth may have been the victim of foul play. The Washington County Violent Crimes Team was called in to assist. Investigators suspected that Christian Delaurentiis, 23 years old, had information related to Mr. Lindemuth's whereabouts. The two men were roommates and were the only people living at the house.
On May 17, 2012, at about 2:38 p.m., Mr. Delaurentiis was contacted during a traffic stop and was found to be driving Mr. Lindemuth's vehicle. Mr. Delaurentiis was arrested at that time for driving with a criminally-suspended driver's license.
Detectives gained additional information and evidence that led them to believe Mr. Delaurentiis may have murdered Mr. Lindemuth in their residence. It was also believed that Mr. Lindemuth's body was dismembered and placed in a chest freezer in the garage. Mr. Delaurentiis was charged with murder and lodged in the Washington County Jail where he is being held without bail.
On May 18, 2012, at about 9:30 a.m., detectives executed a search warrant on the residence at 2149 SW 217th Avenue. Mr. Lindemuth's dismembered body was located in a freezer in the garage.
Investigators continued processing the scene for evidence throughout today and finished at 5:30 p.m. The search efforts were very difficult and slow due to the large amounts of garbage and debris inside and outside the house. The Oregon State Forensics Crime Lab assisted with recovering and processing the enormous amounts of evidence.
The Medical Examiner will perform an autopsy. The cause of death may take two weeks to be determined.
Detectives are seeking the public's help regarding this case. If you have any information, please call the Washington County Sheriff's Office at 503-846-2500.
