Three Local Companies Recognized with City's Beaverton 4 Business Award

THREE LOCAL COMPANIES RECOGNIZED WITH CITY'S BEAVERTON 4 BUSINESS AWARD

Recently, three successful, Beaverton-based companies, Allied Power Products, Beaverton Bakery, and Sage Construction and Real Estate, received Beaverton 4 Business awards from Mayor Denny Doyle and the Beaverton Chamber of Commerce.

"Dynamic businesses create a stronger regional economy, more jobs, support for our schools and a better quality of life in Beaverton," said Mayor Denny Doyle. "We're proud to recognize the achievements of these businesses that continue to make Beaverton ï¿1/2~The Best of Oregon'."

Launched in 2009, Beaverton 4 Business is a program conducted in partnership with the Beaverton Chamber of Commerce that publicly recognizes the significant achievements of businesses either headquartered or with operations in Beaverton.

April 2012 award winners:

Allied Power Products designs and manufactures equipment for commercial or industrial lifting, pulling or positioning. Recognized around the world for its products, the company employs 18 full-time employees and anticipates significant growth in the near future.

Beaverton Bakery, founded in 1925, offers a full line of baked goods made using traditional scratch-baking techniques. The bakery employs 86 full-time workers and 25 part-time employees, and expects to hire 20 workers within the next year. Beaverton Bakery also supports community service organizations, including Washington County drug enforcement and Second Chance, Beaverton schools, the Beaverton Police Athletic league and Washington County Museum.

Sage Construction and Real Estate employs more than 300 full-time workers at its Beaverton campus, more than 25 of which were hired last year. The company has been recognized by the industry as the leading provider of mid-market software applications for construction estimating, job costing, accounting, payroll and project management. Sage employees contribute to a variety of charities, some of which include: the Red Cross Blood drive, drives for local school supplies, foster children Christmas program, Habitat for Humanity, Oregon Public Broadcasting, the Oregon Humane Society and the Oregon Food Bank.
