CCSO INVESTIGATES DEATH OF 40-YEAR-OLD MOLALLA WOMAN FOUND DEAD IN MOTEL ROOM ON SUNDAY

On Sunday, May 02, 2010 at 8:58 a.m. Clackamas County Sheriff's Office investigators received information concerning the suspicious death of a 40-year-old female in a motel room at the Milwaukie Inn, at 14615 SE McLoughlin Boulevard, in the Oak Grove area of Milwaukie.
With this discovery of the deceased female, Clackamas County Sheriff's Office Detectives were summoned to the scene by Sheriff's Office Patrol personnel. Members of the Sheriff's Office Homicide and Violent Crimes Unit responded to the scene and assumed the investigative responsibilities of this ongoing death investigation. In addition, a representative from the Clackamas County District Attorney's Office was notified and participated in this newly acquired death investigation.
As this death investigation progressed, a Clackamas County Deputy Medical Examiner arrived on the scene and assisted with this death investigation. In addition, as notifications were conducted with family members of the deceased, Clackamas County Victim Advocates and members of the Trauma Intervention Program (TIP) were summoned to assist law enforcement personnel with the emotional needs of at least eight (8) family members and friends of the deceased encountered during their investigative process.
The deceased female had been removed from the scene of the investigation and transported by the Clackamas County Deputy Medical Examiner to the Oregon State Medical Examiner's Office, in Clackamas. A forensic autopsy and results of this autopsy were conducted on the deceased today, Monday 3rd.
The Oregon State Medical Examiner's Office performed the forensic autopsy this morning and declared this particular case is presently awaiting toxicology results -- that may require several weeks to complete.
This remains as an ongoing death investigation by the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office.
The deceased has been identified as Dawneida Lee Funk, 40, with a residential address on Fenton Street, in Molalla.
