FATAL COLLISION ON LAKESHORE DRIVE
On Monday, November 2, 2015, the Klamath County Sheriff's Office was involved in trying to locate a stolen vehicle that was involved in a pursuit. The vehicle was located and a collision occurred between the Sheriff's Office vehicle and the stolen vehicle in the 1200 block of Lakeshore Drive, Klamath Falls, Oregon. The driver of the stolen vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene.
Because this was an officer involved fatal incident the Klamath County Major Crime Team has been activated to investigate. The investigation is ongoing.
The public is advised to avoid travel on Lakeshore Drive during the morning hours. Traffic is being stopped and rerouted at the junction of Lakeshore Drive and Highway 140 and at Lakeshore Drive and Moore Park. Lakeshore Drive traffic is shutdown in both directions in the 1200 block until the investigation is completed.
The agencies involved in this investigation are the Klamath Falls Police Department, Oregon State Police, Klamath County Community Corrections, and Klamath County District Attorney's Office.

Further information indicates the incident occurred at 1230AM. The deputy involved received minor injuries.
