UPDATE: Portland Parks & Recreation has also cancelled tonight (Saturday, August 22,2015)'s Dive-In Movie showing of Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day at PP&R's Wilson Pool. We will evaluate Sunday's scheduled showing of the film at Sellwood Pool tomorrow.
(Portland) -
Portland Parks & Recreation (PP&R) has postponed tonight's Summer Free For All Movie in the Park showing of Napoleon Dynamite, originally scheduled for Seawallcrest Park, SE 31st and Market St., due to poor air quality in the metro area.
The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) has issued an advisory indicating that air pollution in the Portland area is in the "unhealthy range" (http://www.deq.state.or.us/aqi/index.aspx)
Safety is PP&R's top priority, and neighborhood partners who help bring Movies in the Park to the City are equally concerned. The bureau will provide updates if rescheduling the much-anticipated showing of this cult classic Movie in the Park proves possible.
