PORTLAND FIRE RESPONDS TO WILD LAND FIRE IN NORTH PORTLAND

Firefighters were dispatched to a fire below the 6800 block of N. Willamette Blvd. at 17:56 pm. The fire originated on the river side of the train tracks below the Bluff. The fire was approximately 100 x 100 feet when the first engines arrived. Firefighters quickly knocked down the bulk of the fire, while secondary crews arrived to put out the remaining "spot" fires. No one was was injured during this incident and the cause is under investigation.
