INTERSTATE FIRE

On August 26th at about 2:57 Clark County 911 began receiving phone calls regarding a fire that was burning on Interstate 5 just south on Ridgefield Washington. As units started to respond additional information came in that there was a male walking up the freeway who was setting the fires as he walked along. Troopers from the Washington State Patrol arrived and detained the subject. The subject was later transported to a local hospital for a health evaluation.
Clark County Fire and Rescue was able to limit the damage this fire cause to grass and shrubs and no structures were lost.
This incident in being investigated by the Clark County Fire Marshalls office along with the Clark County Sheriff's Office.
Currently being investigated for Reckless Burning in the Second Degree is:
Samuel U. Morales who is a 57 year old Woodland Washington resident. Mr. Morales also has an outstanding misdemeanor warrant out of Woodland.
No further information will be released at this time.
