BEAVERTON, Ore. - The City of Beaverton has hired Mike Williams as the city's economic development manager. The economic development division works collaboratively with area partners to support local business, attract n ew jobs, create entrepreneurial opportunities, and add value to Beaverton's economy.


"Mike has a wealth of experience in economic development. He has deep working relationships in this region and understands our city's strengths and opportunities," said Mayor Denny Doyle. "He brings strong relationships and skills to the city and will be a valuable advocate for businesses and jobs. "


Williams has more than 20 years' experience in economic development, commercial real estate and planning as well as a decade's worth of experience in the private sector. He previously held positions of Industrial Lands Specialist and Business Development Officer with the State of Oregon. He is an adjunct professor teaching graduate courses in real estate market analysis and real estate finance at Portland State University.


"I joined the city because of Beaverton's reputation as a place that grows small and large businesses alike," said Williams. "Beaverton is an active regional and statewide partner that has also built an innovative portfolio of programs to serve its business community. I'm excited for the opportunity to build on what Beaverton has to offer its business community."
