On March 1, 2015 at approximately 3:20 PM, Clackamas County Sheriff's Deputies responded to the Town Center Heights (11545 SE Stevens Rd, Happy Valley) due to a report of a missing 7 year old boy. The Deputies learned the boy, Hunter Leiby, walked away from his babysitter's apartment.

Hunter was described to be about about 4 feet tall, 50 pounds, with blonde hair and blue eyes. Hunter was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with a school name printed on it, black pants, and navy blue high-top shoes. He was possibly carrying a brown restaurant bag and a black pull-string backpack.

Clackamas County Sheriff's Deputies and personnel assigned to the Search and Rescue (SAR) team were in the area looking for Hunter. At approximately 4:30 PM, an alert family member located Hunter at a nearby school. Hunter was safe, uninjured, and escorted back to be reunited with his mother.

The family's prompt report, accurate description, and citizen assistance all helped locate Hunter quickly.
