February 24, 2015--Sheriff's Deputies responded to a crash involving a motorcycle. The rider did not survive his injuries.

On February 24, 2015, at 7:12 p.m., Washington County Sheriff's Deputies were called to SW River Road about 200 yards north of SW Farmington Road, in the community of Farmington, concerning a single motorcycle crash. It was reported the rider was unresponsive.

Sheriff's Deputies arrived within minutes and discovered a 2008 Triumph motorcycle off the left side of SW River Road with the rider underneath. Deputies determined that the Triumph had been northbound on SW River Road from a four-way stop prior to a right hand curve. Witnesses and evidence indicated that the Triumph accelerated rapidly attaining a high speed which made it difficult to maintain its lane at the curve. The Triumph lost control and slid sideways causing it to tip over and slide down the roadway, eventually coming to rest on the shoulder.

Sheriff's Deputies found that Steven D. Willford, 67, from Aloha was the motorcycle rider. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

River Road was closed until 9:30 p.m. to gather evidence and document the scene. The Washington County Crash Analysis Reconstruction Team was consulted concerning this investigation.
