February 24, 2015--Washington County Sheriff's Deputies arrested a man after he reportedly shot a gun in his house and through his neighborhood. There was significant damage caused and fortunately no one was injured.
On February 24, 2015 at about 3:16 p.m., Sheriff's Deputies were called to the 20100 block of SW Newcastle Drive in the community of Aloha concerning a man shooting a handgun. It was reported there was a man that was shooting a handgun randomly from his own driveway, striking objects. Deputies learned that just prior to their arrival; another neighbor had taken the gun from the shooter.
Sheriff's Deputies arrived and quickly detained 43 year-old Troy Haren. Deputies learned that Mr. Haren was apparently upset over some family matters and after drinking a large amount of alcohol, retrieved a handgun. Evidence shows that he shot the gun at least 10 times inside the house; through a window and an exterior door. Deputies learned that Mr. Haren then exited the house and continued shooting about 10 more shots randomly from the driveway before the neighbor took the gun away.
The bullets struck a travel trailer, a truck window, a mailbox and a house across the street three houses away. Deputies canvassed the neighborhood searching for additional damage and anyone who may have been struck by a bullet. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported.
Troy Dean Haren was arrested and lodged in the Washington County Jail where he was charged with multiple counts of Reckless Endangering, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Disorderly Conduct and Criminal Mischief. He is held on $10,000 bail.
