Oregon State Police (OSP) continues to ask for the public's help to locate a vehicle and driver involved in Saturday morning's pedestrian-involved serious injury hit & run crash on Highway 62 in White City. The injured pedestrian is identified as CHRISTOPHER JOSEPH THOMPSON, age 41. THOMPSON has resided in the Portland area and may be currently living in the Central Point area.

According to Sergeant Jeff Allison, on October 4, 2014 at approximately 3:15 a.m., an adult male later identified as THOMPSON was struck by an unknown vehicle on Highway 62 near milepost 7 in front of the White City Goodwill store. Preliminary investigation indicates THOMPSON was walking in the northbound bike lane located between the right turn lane into the store and the right northbound lane.

THOMPSON was transported by Mercy Flights to Rogue Regional Medical Center and is in critical condition. His family has been notified.

OSP troopers from the Central Point Area Command office are investigating the crash and seeking information to locate the vehicle and driver. Evidence at the scene indicates the involved vehicle sustained damage to a headlight/turn signal assembly, side mirror and possibly windshield or side glass. It is unknown at this time if the damage is to the right or left area of the involved vehicle.
