Detectives have identified Jack R. Yancey as a suspect in the homicide investigation. Yancey is not in custody and police are attempting to locate him. Police are currently in the area of W Fourth Plain Blvd./Kauffman Ave. related to a possible sighting of Yancey. Schools in the area are on lockdown due to the police activity, which includes a K9 track.
Yancey is considered dangerous and should not be approached. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Jack R. Yancey should call 911.

On 09-24-14, at approximately 10:00 pm, multiple Vancouver Police units were dispatched to a radio call of "Assault With a Weapon" at 900 block of W 16th St.
At time of this report, VPD Detectives are on scene and investigating a homicide. Victim was an adult male and resident of Vancouver.
Investigation of this incident is currently active and no further details are available at this point in time.
