The vehicle was located on SE 78th and SE Harney. The vehicle was found by a family member of the victim. It was located about 3 blocks from where it was taken.
The vehicle is currently being processed for evidence. No further suspect information is available at this time.
Update: This occured in unincoporated Clackamas County not Happy Valley
At 9:34 p.m. on Monday, September 22, 2014, Clackamas County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a report of an armed carjacking in the parking lot of the Fred Meyer located at 8955 SE 82nd Ave. in unincorporated Clackamas County. The three suspects are still at large. A photo of the type of vehicle stolen is attached. Tips are sought.
The victim, a 58-year-old woman, was placing her groceries in the passenger side of her vehicle -- a white 2002 Ford Ranger pickup -- when she was approached by three males believed to be white, wearing dark clothing with hoodies.
One suspect -- a 5'10", clean-shaven white male with a thin build -- produced a gun. The three suspects stole her keys and purse and got into the pickup. The victim ran back into the Fred Meyer as the suspects left the scene driving north through the store's parking lot.
The stolen vehicle is described as a white 2002 Ford Ranger extended-cab pickup with OR license plate ZET 897. It has a distinctive identifying feature: The rear passenger-side quarter-panel is partially painted purple.
Photos of a similar pickup in this model (NOT of the specific stolen vehicle) are attached to this release.
