OFFICER INVOLVED IN SHOOTING IDENTIFIED

Vancouver, Wash. - On September 25, 2014, Vancouver Police responded to an armed robbery at a convenience store located at 2714 NE 112th Ave. The suspect, Thomas J. Keys, was seen fleeing the area in a stolen vehicle. Vancouver Police located the vehicle and attempted a traffic stop. As officers attempted to stop Keys, he rammed a police vehicle with his vehicle and continued to flee the area. As Keys was fleeing, Vancouver Police Officer Jamie Haske, 34, discharged her firearm at Keys' vehicle. Keys later crashed the stolen vehicle and fled on foot. He was located and arrested the following day and is currently lodged in the Clark County Jail.
Officer Haske was hired by the Vancouver Police Department in August 2011 as an entry level officer. After completing the Washington State Police academy, Officer Haske was sworn in by the Vancouver Police Department on March 21, 2012. She is assigned to the Patrol division.
Following standard department protocol, Officer Haske is currently on paid administrative leave.
The Regional Major Crimes Team is conducting the officer involved shooting investigation.
