Law Enforcement will do their part with extra DUI Patrols from August 15-September 1, 2014

Clark County, WA - Law enforcement will conduct extra DUI patrols in Clark County from Aug. 15-Sept. 1, 2014. Strict enforcement of impaired driving laws combined with public education is a proven method for reducing fatalities and serious injury crashes.

This year extra patrols in Clark County as well as across the state of Washington, will be out looking for impaired drivers. Law enforcement will be patrolling on county roads, city streets and state highways during this period.

However, law enforcement officers can't do it alone. We are encouraging everyone to do their part during these last few days of summer to prevent an impaired driver from getting behind the wheel. Call a cab. Call a friend. Take their keys! Please do not ride with someone who might be impaired!

This is why officers from Battle Ground, Camas, La Center, Vancouver and Washougal Police Departments, the Clark County Sheriff's Office and the Washington State Patrol will commit extra patrol hours to make the roadways safer for everyone. These efforts are part of Washington's Strategic Highway Safety Plan to reduce traffic fatalities to zero by the year 2030.

The Clark County Target Zero Traffic Safety Task Force organizes and supports this enforcement effort. They urge you to join the team to prevent impaired driving.
