SERIOUS INJURY TRAFFIC CRASH - HIGHWAY 22 EAST OF HEBO IN TILLAMOOK COUNTY (PHOTO)

Oregon State Police (OSP) is continuing the investigation into the cause of Friday afternoon's two vehicle serious injury traffic crash that occurred on Highway 22 about 11 miles east of Hebo in Tillamook County.
On May 9, 2014 at approximately 12:45 p.m., a 1998 Mazda pickup driven by DAVID ROSS SHEPARD, age 68, from Salem, was eastbound on Highway 22 near milepost 11 when the driver lost control negotiating a right curve and entered the westbound lane colliding head-on with a westbound Penske moving truck driven by DUANE ANDREW OVERGARD, age 55. city residence information not available.
The female passenger of the Penske truck, LESLIE ANN OVERGARD, age not available, was transported by ambulance to Tillamook Regional Medical Center for minor injury. DUANE OVERGARD was uninjured.
SHEPARD was transported by LifeFlight to Oregon Health & Science University with serious injuries.
The occupants of the moving truck were using safety restraints. Safety Restraints were not used by SHEPARD.
OSP was assisted at the scene by Tillamook County Sheriff's Office, Nestucca Rural Fire Department, Tillamook Regional Medical Center Ambulance, and ODOT.
