At 8:34pm Portland Fire & Rescue responded with Gresham Fire and Emergency Services to a residential fire at 17500 E Burnside St. The crew from Station 31 (Rockwood) arrived an d found heavy fire involvement on the second floor of the residence. A fire attack hose line was used to extinguish the flames while additional fire crews searched for potential victims and ventilated the smoke and fire from the attic space.
No victims were found in this fire and there was no report of any injuries. The fire was brought under control at 8:56pm and fire crews remain on scene mopping up. A fire investigator is on scene working to determine the fire cause and damage estimates. Additional information will be given as it becomes available.
