VANCOUVER POLICE ARREST MAIL THIEF

On December 12, 2013, Vancouver Police arrested Christina R. Tandberg, DOB 10/13/77, for one count of trafficking stolen property, six counts of Identity Theft II, one count of Possession of Stolen Property II, two counts of Forgery and two counts of Possession of Stolen Mail. Tandberg was booked into the Clark County Jail.

This investigation began when Vancouver Police responded to a residence in the 6100 block of NW Cherry Street on October 12, 2013 after the homeowner located a large amount of mail in a room that Tandberg had used while she was a house guest.

The case was also referred to the U.S. Postal Inspector for follow up and the ongoing investigation.

Identity theft and fraud can have long-lasting effects. To help prevent these crimes, Vancouver Police encourage citizens to use a locking mailbox and check mail daily. In addition, check bank and credit card statements monthly and credit reports at least once annually. Report any unauthorized transactions or activity immediately to your financial institution and law enforcement.
