PGE - WED 8:18am

PGE: PGE crews have restored full electric service to all customers affected by this week's power outage in downtown Portland. As of 8 a.m. crews had completed all essential network repairs and worked with building managers in the remaining eight-block area to energize their electrical systems. With some delays during the night and early morning, the process was executed successfully and the downtown grid has returned to normal operations, although individual buildings may take longer to bring all of their facilities online or be ready for public access. Traffic signals in the affected area are functioning properly. People who work in the eight-block area that was without power on Tuesday should consult with their employers to determine whether their workday will be affected on Wednesday. Holiday shoppers and other visitors are encouraged to check directly with retailers and other businesses to verify t heir status. PGE thanks customers, the affected building managers, and the public for their patience as crews worked around the clock in difficult conditions since Sunday to complete repairs to the system and restore service.
