At 6:20 a.m. on Wednesday, May 29, 2013, Clackamas County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a non-injury traffic crash in which a semi-tractor trailer rig carrying a heavy front-loader fell off the trailer and onto a vacant barn.

The accident happened on SE Wildcat Mtn. Rd., near SE. Horace Rd. in Sandy, Oregon -- a forested area of Clackamas County.

The driver told deputies that he was pulling the trailer and front-loader when the rear dual tires of the trailer slid off the road -- causing the trailer to slide down an embankment.

The sheer weight of the heavy loader made the trailer slide down the embankment -- snapping the heavy security chains to the loader and causing it to slide off and flip over.

The loader with its extended logging boom smashed through a barn, causing extensive damage. Fortunately, no was hurt during the crash.

Clackamas County Sheriff's Office deputies -- along with the Clackamas County Road Department and Clackamas County Weigh Master -- arrived at the scene to investigate the crash and determine if any load and travel permits were violated. The driver from Greenup Logging Inc. had all the required permits for the vehicle and front-loader.

The crash is still under investigation. Photos from the crash scene are attached.
