BEAVERTON CITY HALL FEATURES ASIAN INSPIRED ART, PHOTOGRAPHY AND ABSTRACT PIECES THROUGH MAY
Posted: April 24th, 2013 9:13 AM

Through May, the Beaverton Arts Commission (BAC) will feature works by Cindy Lommasson, Michael Ten and Susan Gould. The artworks can be found on all three floors of Beaverton City Hall (4755 SW Griffith Drive).

"We have such talented local artists featured at City Hall this month," said Mayor Denny Doyle. "Come by and view the exquisite artwork on display."

First and Third Floor pedestals: Cindy Lommasson's work is based on 10 years of practice of traditional Chinese brush painting. Her work has evolved to reflect her own personal artistic sensibilities, while maintaining a strong Asian influence. Using a minimalist approach, Lommasson favors landscape and botanical subjects. A public reception will be held on Wednesday, May 8 from 5:45 to 7 p.m. in the lobby of City Hall. For more information, please visit www.CindyLommasson.com.

Second Floor: Michael Ten is a native Oregonian and partially self-taught artist. Inspired by a trip in Lahaina, Hawaii, Ten began painting with oils. Ten attempts to communicate non-verbal messages through abstract means--using bright paint and bright ideas. Ten also likes to create avant-garde art, and art related to political activism and scientific and technological evangelism. For more information, please visit www.MichaelTen.com.

Third Floor: Susan Gould has been involved with photography for more than 37 years. Gould's family and friends say she 'has an eye' for photography which ranges from landscapes, coastal scenes, and flowers, to family and senior portraits and events for businesses, the City of Beaverton, and Washington County Museum.
