OSP INVESTIGATING INJURY HIT & RUN CRASH - HIGHWAY 224 NEAR BARTON

Oregon State Police (OSP) is investigating a single vehicle injury crash that occurred Tuesday afternoon along Highway 224 west of SE Bakers Ferry Road in which a male driver fled the crash scene leaving behind an injured female passenger. With the help of Clackamas County Sheriff's Office (CCSO), the man was found later and both he and the female passenger were taken to an area hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Preliminary information indicates on January 8, 2013 at approximately 5:45 p.m., a Honda Civic with two occupants was involved in a collision with a tree along Highway 224 near milepost 14. OSP, CCSO and Boring Fire District responded to the crash and found a female injured in the car. Following an area search, a male occupant believed to be the driver was found injured a short distance from the crash scene.

Both people were taken by ambulance to Mt. Hood Medical Center in Gresham. Their names are not available for release at this time.

More information expected for release later on Wednesday.
