January 8, 2013-- Sheriff's Deputies responded to a reported theft of a wooden bear statue. The public's assistance is requested to help locate the statue.
Washington County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a reported theft on January 5, 2013, at 1080 NW 102nd Avenue. It was reported that a five foot tall wooden bear statue was stolen overnight. This is in Cedar Mill, an area of the Enhanced Sheriff's Patrol District (ESPD). The bear was purchased in 1996 for $1700 and has been in the yard for years. It is now a gray color from weathering.
The bear is estimated to weigh over 200 pounds. Deputies believe that it would require more than one person to carry away the statue. Investigators are seeking the public's help regarding this case. If you have any information, please call the Washington County Sheriff's Office at (503) 629-0111.
