On December 28, 2012 just after 8:00 pm, the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office received a call regarding a lost skier on Mt Hood. The skier has been identified as Conor Roland-Chicvara, 22, of Portland, Oregon.
Conor had been skiing at Timberline today when he called his mother to tell her he was lost. She contacted the Timberline Ski Patrol who then contacted the Sheriff's Office.
The Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue Coordinators were deployed to the area. Using a GPS device Conor had with him and his cell phone they were able to determine his position in the Zig Zag Canyon. Timberline Ski Patrol went to the area and at approximately 1:30 am on December 29, 2012 they located Conor.
Conor was not reported to be injured and at this point they will asses the safest way to get him out of the area. There is an AMR Reach and Treat unit standing by in the area in case they are needed.
