At 12:19pm this afternoon, a caller reported to 9-1-1 that a neighboring home in the 13000 block of SW Berthold in Beaverton was ablaze. In less than four minutes of being dispatched, firefighters from nearby Station 67 arrived and began to fight the fire from the outside. The occupants had already evacuated.
Though firefighters knocked down the fire within 12 minutes, the small home was destroyed. It is unclear how the fire started or whether the home had working smoke alarms. Though there appeared to be no initial injuries, an adult female occupant was transported by Metro West after the fire was out.
Crews mopping up the fire and a fire investigator remain on scene at this hour.
