SERIOUS INJURY ACCIDENT

Sheriffmber 12, 2012 at about 2230 hours, emergency crews responded to a single vehicle rollover accident in the 2900 block of NE Lockwood Creek Road just east of La Center. Upon arrival, crews found a 1985 Ford truck on its side in the middle of the roadway. The driver was trapped inside the vehicle and the passenger had been ejected. Both were transported to Peace Health SWWMC by ambulance.
The truck had been traveling east on Lockwood Creek Road where it appears to have veered off the roadway. The driver over- corrected causing the truck to spin and roll. It is believed that drug and / or alcohol impairment was a contributing factor in the accident.
The driver was treated and released from the hospital and taken into custody. He has been booked into the Clark County Jail on charges of Vehicular Assault. The passenger remains hospitalized with serious injuries.
