OSP FISH & WILDLIFE DIVISION ASKING PUBLIC'S HELP IN INVESTIGATION OF UNLAWFUL KILLING OF CALF ELK SOUTHWEST OF CAMAS VALLEY

Oregon State Police (OSP) Fish & Wildlife troopers from the Roseburg Area Command office are asking for the public's help to identify the suspect(s) involved in Sunday's unlawful shooting and waste of an calf elk southwest of Camas Valley. A reward of up to $500 is offered by the Oregon Hunter's Association (OHA) for information that leads to an arrest in this case.
On November 11, 2012 at approximately 10:00 a.m., a calf elk was shot and left to waste near the Twelvemile Drainage in the Melrose Unit southwest of Camas Valley. Information indicates the calf elk may have been shot by occupants of a vehicle described as a white Chevrolet extra cab pickup with a black tool box in the back displaying an unknown license plate in a "Clint Newell" GM dealership license plate frame.
The occupants were described as a white male driver in mid-30s, a white male passenger in mid-60s, and a juvenile male under age 10.
A reward of up to $500 is offered through the Turn-In-Poachers (TIP) program for information related to this investigation. Anyone with information regarding these cases is asked to call the TIP line at 1-800-452-7888 or contact Senior Trooper Jason Stone at (541) 440-4210.
