A Mulino-area man is facing DUII and Reckless Driving charges after he was involved in two separate traffic crashes driving two different vehicles Monday night near his residence.
During the late evening hours of November 26, 2012, Oregon State Police (OSP) were notified of a possible DUII driver involved in a non-injury traffic crash who was trying to get a vehicle towed from S. Eldorado Road and Highway 213 near Mulino. When an OSP trooper arrived on scene he contacted a man identified as LEO B. BROWN, age 54, from Mulino. BROWN was wearing a light jacket, thermal long underwear and no pants, and tennis shoes.
Subsequent investigation indicated that BROWN earlier was driving a 1994 Nissan Sentra four-door on S. Eldorado Road, traveled off the north side of the road and crashed through large bushes and small trees. The Nissan continued about 300 feet before getting stuck in mud. BROWN walked back to his home where he got a second vehicle, a 2006 Hyundai four-door, and returned to try and pull out the stuck Nissan. As he went back to the scene in the Hyundai, BROWN drove off the road a short distance from the first crash scene and came to rest off the highway with the Hyundai's back end sticking straight up in the air.
Subsequent investigation led the OSP trooper to arrest BROWN for DUII - Controlled Substance and Reckless Driving. After being processed at the OSP Portland Area Command office, BROWN was cited to appear on the charges in Clackamas County Circuit Court.
Other charges may be pending following an ongoing investigation. OSP was assisted by Clackamas County Sheriff's Office during the investigation.
