LINN COUNTY VICTIM'S IMPACT PANEL ANNUAL TREE OF REMEMBRANCE CEREMONY

On Thursday November 29th, 2012 the Linn County Victim Impact Panel will be hosting their 15th annual Tree of Remembrance Ceremony. The ceremony will take place at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers of the Albany City Hall located at 333 SW Broadalbin Street Albany, Oregon.
This year's ceremony will feature the new incoming Linn County District Attorney Doug Marteeny as the featured guest speaker. Additionally, several members of the Eugene Symphony will be performing at the event.
At the ceremony, Christmas ornaments inscribed with the names of victims will be hung on the Tree of Remembrance. The ceremony provides on opportunity for our community to take time over the holiday season to remember those who have been killed or injured in Linn County by impaired drivers. After the ceremony, the tree will be placed in the Heritage Mall for display and will assist to remind people not to drink and drive over the holidays.
If someone has a name they would like to add to the list and an ornament hung on the tree, please contact Officer Robert Hayes at 541-917-7680 at the Albany Police Department or Sergeant Eric Judah at 541-967-2113 with the Oregon State Police.
The Linn County Victim Impact Panel exists to educate people convicted of DUII or other related offenses regarding how tragic impaired driving can be. After conviction for DUII, a Judge imposes a jail term, a fine, or gives the individual conditions to be followed. One of the conditions given is that the individual be required to attend the DUII Victim Impact Panel. Additional information about the Linn County Victim Impact Panel can be found at www.lcvip.org
