Posted: October 16th, 2012 6:41 PM

Oregon State Police (OSP) troopers are still on scene of Tuesday afternoon's fatal traffic crash that resulted in the death of a female along Highway 35 about ten miles south of Hood River. The names of the victim and other driver will be released Wednesday morning.

According to OSP Sergeant Les Kipper, on October 16, 2012 at approximately 3:10 p.m., a 2004 Honda CRV sport utility vehicle driven by the victim was trying to access Highway 35 from a driveway on the east side of the highway when it pulled in front of a northbound flatbed truck loaded with pears. The flatbed truck collided into the Honda's driver side.

The 29-year old male driver of the flatbed truck was not injured.

The Honda's driver was pronounced deceased at the scene. Her name, age, and residence information will be released Wednesday.

OSP troopers from The Dalles Area Command office are continuing the investigation.

OSP is assisted at the scene by Hood River County Sheriff's Office, Parkdale Fire Department, and ODOT. The highway is still closed and a detour is in place for traffic in both directions. Traffic updates can be found at www.TripCheck.com.

No photographs for release today.
