Posted: October 3rd, 2012 1:39 AM
On October 2, 2012, at 7:51 p.m., Washington County Sheriff's Deputies were called to the intersection of SW Rosa Road and SW 183rd Avenue in Aloha, an area of the Enhanced Sheriff's Patrol District (ESPD). It was reported a person had been shot during a verbal altercation.
Sheriff's Deputies arrived less than a minute later and found a 24-year-old man on the side of SW Rosa Road close to SW 183rd Avenue. The man was deceased from what appeared to be a gunshot wound. Sheriff's Deputies contacted a 41-year-old man walking about a block away. They obtained information that the two men had reportedly been in a verbal altercation when the older man used his handgun to shoot the younger man (their names are not being released at this time). The shooting occurred on the roadway.
The Washington County Major Crimes Team responded and is assisting in the investigation. It is unclear what lead up to the shooting. Washington County CART responded to complete a thorough diagram of the scene and the Washington County Forensics team assisted with evidence collection and photographs.
The investigation is ongoing and there is no further information available at this time.
