Oregon State Police (OSP) is continuing the investigation into the cause of Monday afternoon's single vehicle serious injury traffic crash along Highway 3 about six miles north of Enterprise. The vehicle's driver is in critical condition after he was ejected from the vehicle.

According to OSP Senior Trooper Brian Miller, on October 1, 2012 at approximately 4:25 p.m., a 1998 Isuzu sport utility vehicle driven by LUTHER SCOTT ARQUETTE, age 41, from Enterprise, was southbound on Highway 3 near milepost 6. For an unknown reason the vehicle traveled onto the southbound shoulder, over-corrected across the highway and into a ditch where it rolled before coming to rest on its top off the highway.

ARQUETTE was not using safety restraints and was ejected from the vehicle. He was transported by air ambulance to Providence St. Mary Medical Center in Walla Walla, Washington where he is listed in critical condition.

OSP was assisted at the scene by Wallowa County Sheriff's Office, Enterprise Police Department, Enterprise Fire Department, and ODOT. One lane was closed during the incident response and investigation.
