The Reser's Fine Foods' 30th Annual Visual Arts Showcase art exhibit and sale, presented by the Beaverton Arts Commission (BAC), will run from Saturday, Nov. 3 through Sunday, Nov. 11 at the Beaverton City Library (12375 SW 5th Street). The showcase is free, open to the public, and features more than 90 works of art by Oregon artists.

"It's amazing to think about the tremendous talents represented by the Visual Arts Showcase over the past 30 years," said Mayor Denny Doyle. "Showcase continues to provide a unique opportunity to view inspirational works created by Oregon artists, displayed right here in Beaverton."

An Opening Night Gala and Reception will kick off the nine day exhibition and sale on Saturday, Nov. 3, from 7 to 9 p.m. in meeting rooms A and B of the Beaverton City Library. Open to the public, the gala allows community members to meet the participating artists, as well as local community leaders, while getting a chance to vote for their favorite work. Awards will be announced at the gala, which includes seven $100 first place awards, and a $500 Best of Show award. Professional Pianist, Linda Smith, will perform throughout the evening.

"It's hard to believe that Showcase has celebrated art in our community for 30 years!" said BAC President Shelley Wright. "It's wonderful to see the evolution of our artists and how many participate in the jury process to be chosen for the Beaverton Showcase. Here's to the next 30 years!"

Before the gala on Saturday, Nov. 3, the Westside Cultural Alliance will present a workshop for grant seekers from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Library Auditorium titled "Finding and Getting the Right Grant."
