At about 1530 hours Clark County Fire District Six was dispatched tithe Quality Inn Hotel located at 7001 HWY 99 on a report of a fire in a room. Fire filters arrived to a working structure fire and began to fight the fire. A male was located on the roof of the building. Fire fighters believe he had fled the fire and needed rescuing. They provided a ladder to the roof which the male kicked down. They made a second attempt to reach the male by ladder which he kicked down again.
Clark County Sheriff's Deputies arrived on scene and began to negotiate with the subject. The subject refused to cooperate with negotiators and verbally challenged them to come up onto the roof and engage him. He also began threatening deputies on scene.
At about 8:00 pm the subject, who was identified as Angel M Torres-Reyna 41 year old male, came down off of the roof and was arrested for first degree arson.
