On September 27, 2012 at 7:00am, detectives from the Westside Interagency Narcotics Team (WIN) served a search warrant at The Human Collective. This is a business that has been illegally selling Marijuana at 11509 SW Highway 99W in the city of Tigard. There was a second search warrant served at two of the business operators residence located a few blocks from the dispensary. Detectives detained and questioned 37-year-old David Nicholson and 36-year-old Sarah Bennett in connection with the case.
It is believed that The Human Collective has been in operation for over two years and has been selling Marijuana to people that would display an Oregon Medical Marijuana Program (OMMP) card at the front door. They were selling marijuana at the location in a retail setting.
Investigators seized 21 large and over 200 smaller Marijuana plants at the residence. They seized about 40 pounds of Marijuana buds, over $23,000 in cash, and three firearms between the two search locations. It is believed the dispensary had over $1,700,000 in sales over the last year.
There were two children, ages three weeks and four years old, in the house that were taken into protective custody and turned over to a family member.
This case is being forwarded to the Washington County District Attorney for grand jury consideration.
