VANCOUVER POLICE ARREST PROLIFIC GRAFFITI SUSPECT
Posted: August 17th, 2012 12:54 PM

On August 16, 2012 the Vancouver Police West Neighborhood Response Team (NRT) arrested a 14 year old male for Burglary II and Malicious Mischief III based on an investigation into increased graffiti in the Fruit Valley area of Vancouver. The juvenile arrested is believed to be the primary source of the increased graffiti in this area and he was booked into the Clark County Juvenile Detention Center.

Graffiti is done without permission and is considered vandalism. Gang graffiti is also threatening. In both cases, graffiti will attract more of the same if left in place. It creates a perception that the area where it is found is unsafe. For these reasons it is important to address it as soon as it is observed. Citizens are encouraged to record, report and remove graffiti. Here is a link to more information from the Vancouver Police Department on what to do about graffiti.
