Multnomah Co. Sheriff's Office: Missing Hikers Found Near Oneonta Trail (Follow up from message sent this morning):
At approximately 1010 hours this morning (August 24, 2012), two missing hikers were spotted by other hikers near the top of Oneonta trail head not far from Horsetail Falls, approximately three miles East from their original meeting point of Multnomah Falls. Multnomah County Law Enforcement along with members from Search and Rescue intercepted the two hikers, Dean Adams age 50 and Kyle Miller age 6, and escorted them down the Oneonta trail. The hikers were examined by medical personnel at the scene and were found to be in good health and did not require hospitalization. According to Mr. Adams, the pair sought shelter in the woods overnight after taking a wrong turn on their way to Multnomah Falls. Given the late hour he believed the best course of action was to wait until day light to continue hiking.
