On 8/20/12 around 3:40 PM a 13 year-old victim was crossing Brighton Avenue from Barclay with two friends, when she was struck by what witnesses describe as a gold or tan Ford Explorer, Jeep Wrangler or similar SUV with partial plate 769F. The victim was thrown, and lying in the street unconscious when the occupants of the SUV stopped, got out of the vehicle, looked at the victim in the roadway, then left in their vehicle without rendering aid or calling for help.
The driver of the SUV is described as a white male approximately 40 years old, unshaven face and wearing a baseball cap. His female passenger is described as being Hispanic or Asian in appearance, approx. 17 years old with long black hair.
On 8-22-12 at 9:05 am, OCPD officers responded to the Rosewood Terrace Apartments, located at 235 Pearl Street in Oregon City on the report that a man was seen wiping down the steering wheel of a two-tone tan Ford Explorer with no license plates.
The tan Ford Explorer pictured has front end damage and the driver's window is broken. When OCPD contacted the registered owner of the Explorer, he claimed to have sold the vehicle on 8-1-12. We are requesting anyone with information about persons associated with the pictured Explorer since 8-1-12 call Oregon City Police non emergency dispatch at 503-655-8211 or Oregon City Police anonymous TIP line at 503-496-1616.
