Join other renewable energy devotees at 9th annual Pacific Power Blue Sky tour this year set for Walla Walla
WALLA WALLA, Wash.. -- Whimsical westerners who wish to wander among whooshing wind turbines can take advantage of Pacific Power's 9th annual Renewable Energy Project Tour, Sept. 8.
The tour starts at 9:30 a.m. at Walla Walla Community College with presentations on both solar and wind power. After lunch, it is a quick bus trip to PacifiCorp's Marengo Wind facility where participants will check out one of the 220-foot-tall turbine towers and ask questions they've always wondered about of wind farm experts.
Then it is back to the community college where you can tour the college's wind tech training program, solar projects funded in part by Blue Sky customers or sample some wine from local vineyards.
"This is always a great event," said Rhonda Rasmussen, Blue Sky Program manager. "It is a thrill to have nearly 100 Pacific Power customers excited about supporting and learning about renewable energy. This year, it will especially rewarding to be at the Walla Walla Community College, which has been a long time Blue Sky partner and very active in developing solar facilities on campus."
The cost is $25 per person with discounts for children and Blue Sky customers. Spots are going fast so please contact windtour@pacificpower.net or call 1-866-476-9378 ext. 23 for questions or download the registration packet at pacificpower.net/tour, or email.
