COMPLETE BURN BAN DECLARED TODAY - CONTINUED HOT, DRY WEATHER CONDITIONS NECESSITATE RESTRICTIONS
Posted: August 16th, 2012 9:57 AM
GRESHAM, Ore. - Gresham Fire and Emergency Services announce the official declaration of a complete Burn Ban effective Aug. 16. Until further notice, yard debris burning, agricultural burning, burning with a permit, and recreational campfires, (including man-made fire pits and store-bought outdoor fireplaces), will not be allowed in Gresham, Troutdale, Fairview, Wood Village and the unincorporated areas in Multnomah County Fire District 10.
These restrictions are due to the Red Flag Warning and Excessive Heat Warnings currently in effect, in addition to the east winds we are expecting over the next few days. Barbequing is still allowed, but citizens should exercise extreme caution when using charcoal briquettes.
