Posted: July 10th, 2012 4:40 PM

An adult male and four children were injured Tuesday morning in a single vehicle rollover traffic crash along Highway 34 about two miles east of Corvallis. The car's driver was later arrested by Oregon State Police (OSP) after release from a hospital on a drug-related charge.

According to OSP Trooper Ray Stallsworth, on July 10, 2012 at approximately 10:08 a.m. a 1999 Dodge Durango driven by RANDY KEITH MONSON, age 29, from Corvallis, was westbound on Highway 34 near milepost 2 when it drifted off the roadway into a ditch. The Dodge traveled about a hundred feet in the ditch before hitting a culvert pipe, going over a driveway and rolling more than once. The vehicle came to rest on its top off the highway.

MONSON and four boys, ages 14 to 7, received non-life threatening injuries. They were transported by ambulances to Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Corvallis for treatment. The boys' names are not available for this release.

After MONSON was released from the hospital, Stallsworth arrested him for Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance - Methamphetamine. MONSON was also cited for Driving While Suspended and Careless Driving.

OSP was assisted at the scene by Corvallis Police Department, Corvallis Fire Department, Albany Fire Department, and ODOT.

No photographs available for release at this time.
