RED CROSS RESPONDS TO TWO OVERNIGHT FIRES

American Red Cross disaster responders from the Willamette and Oregon Pacific chapters were in the field on separate residential fires during the night of June 9-10.
The Willamette Chapter team assisted one adult displaced by a late evening fire in the 1500 block of NE 14th Street in Lincoln City, Lincoln County. The team provided three nights emergency lodging at a local motel, funds for emergency food and clothing, and hygiene kits. The Disaster Mental Health On-Call volunteer and the Oregon Region Chief Operating Officer were also notified due to a single fatality in the apartment where the fire originated.
The Oregon Pacific chapter disaster action team assisted one adult at a fire in the 1100 block of M Street in Springfield, Lane County. The team provided immediate emergency assistance with three nights emergency lodging at a local motel and funds for emergency food and clothing.
