UPDATE: SECOND SUSPECT ARRAIGNED IN CONNECTION WITH NOVEMBER 2011 THEFT OF TRAIL CONSTRUCTION MACHINE AND TRAILER FROM L.L. "STUB" STEWART STATE PARK

The main suspect in the theft of an $80,000 trail construction machine and trailer stolen from L.L. "Stub" Stewart State Park in late November 2011 was arraigned last week in Washington County Circuit Court. The suspectm who is currently serving time in Washington County Jail on a previous conviction, was indicted April 20, 2012 by a grand jury for Aggravated Theft in the First Degree, Criminal Mischief in the First Degree, and Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle.
Since late November 2011, Oregon State Police (OSP) detectives and troopers were investigating the theft of an $80,000 "Northwest Trail Alliance" trail construction machine and trailer from L.L. "Stub" Stewart State Park. An anonymous tip led OSP to the Forest Grove area where the trail construction machine and trailer were found hidden in a forested area. The trailer was cut apart and numerous items previously inside were burned. To conceal its appearance, the trail construction machine was painted a different color.
The main suspect in the theft was identified as TERRY LEE McEUIN, age 42, from Forest Grove. McEUIN was already in custody in the Washington County Jail on unrelated charges when he was indicted and arraigned.
On April 30, 2012, OSP arrested the property owner, DONALD LEE GOODWIN, age 67, where the stolen machine and trailer were found.
OSP Detective Chris Schinnerer led the investigation with the assistance of troopers from the North Plains work site.
