CCSO: Update, Boring toddler dies after tractor accident
On April 21, 2012, just after 6:00 pm Clackamas County 911 received a call of an 18 month old female injured in an accident involving a tractor. Boring Fire and Rescue, American Medical Response and the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office responded.
The female toddler was transported by Life Flight to Emanuel Hospital, where she died as a result of her injuries. The victim is identified as Olivia Burkholder of Boring, Oregon.
Clackamas County Sheriff's deputies, and detectives, as well as the Interagency Crime Reconstruction and Forensics Team and the State Medical Examiners Office have investigated the circumstances surrounding the incident. The initial findings are that the death was accidental and was caused by multiple traumatic injuries.
Investigators report that the incident occurred outside the family home. It is believed the young victim sustained crushing injuries when the tractor being operated by her father inadvertently ran over her as it was being parked near the home.
No criminal charges will be pursued.
