Update on Hazing incident.

The Clark County Sheriff's Office has been working with the Evergreen School District to investigate this incident. During the investigation the School Resource Deputy met with and interviewed all of the people involved. Based on all of the information received it appears that there were a total of three students that could be considered victims.

Working with the parents of the students and officials from the school district, it was determined to let the school district handle all of the discipline for this incident. The School Resource Deputy will be completing a report and forwarding it to the Clark County Prosecutor's Office with a recommendation that no charges be filled.

In this specific case no charges are being referred to the Prosecutor's Office. It is important to note that the Clark County Sheriff's Office takes these sort of incidents very seriously. We will continue to investigate claims of assault and bulling as they come to light.

Any questions regarding actual discipline for the involved students should be directed towards the school district.

On Friday March 9th The Clark County Sheriff's Office responded to a home in the Orchards area for a report of an assault that had occurred earlier. The investigating deputy learned that at least one of them members of the Heritage High School Varsity Baseball team had been the victim of an apparent hazing incident. The incident had occurred at York Elementary School around 9:00 PM. During the incident there were no injuries that required medical attention. Not all members of the team were involved, but the involved members have been identified.

The Clark County Sheriff's Office is working with the Evergreen School district to investigate this incident. The Sheriff's Office has a full-Time School Resource Officer assigned to the school. This deputy will be conducting all of the follow-up on this case and then working with the school district, the victim and their parents to come to a resolution.

There have been no arrests at this time.

The Clark County Sheriff's Office is dedicated to working with our community to enhance the safety and livability in Clark County. These sorts of incidents are taken very seriously and will be fully investigated.
